Tsaatan Reindeer Herders Homestay
10-Day Remote Cultural Immersion
About This Trip
This is one of the most remote journeys in Mongolia. You head deep into the northern taiga to live with the Tsaatan reindeer herders, a community that still moves with their animals through the forest. It is raw, simple, and completely off grid. Few people ever reach this part of the world.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Mongolia’s capital and transfer to your hotel. Meet your guide, and prepare for a journey that quickly leaves roads, comfort, and modern life behind. This first day is about settling in before heading to one of the most remote regions in the country.

Fly to Murun, Ulaan Uul Village

Drive to Tsagaan Nuur
Continue deeper into northern Mongolia with another long drive to Tsagaan Nuur village. Roads become rough tracks as you move further from civilization. This is the last permanent settlement before heading into the forest.

Horse Trek into Taiga
Leave vehicles behind and begin the horseback journey into the taiga forest. Ride through rivers, forests, and open clearings until reaching the Tsaatan camps. This is slow travel through untouched terrain, far from any infrastructure.

Reindeer Herders Experience
Spend a full day living with the Tsaatan families. Learn how they care for their reindeer, move through the forest, and survive in this environment. This is a rare cultural experience with very little outside influence.
